Hi my name is Valentine the German Shepherd and I have cancer. I have not been feeling very good lately and my daddy took me to see the vet. I heard the words cancer, lymphoma and chemotherapy. I do not know what these words mean, I just know I don't feel good and everyday I feel worse. My daddy loves me and I heard him tell the Dr. that he has no way to afford the 8000 dollars to pay for my treatment. My daddy is too proud to ask people for help so I asked his friend if she could find a way to help pay for my chemotherapy. I am 5 years old and my daddy rescued me when I was 2. My first two years were full of abuse. I was smacked, kicked, beaten and I don't know why. When I was rescued I was malnourished and 40 pounds underweight. I also had mange with no hair on my belly and just a little bit of hair on my back. This hurt a lot because the sun burned my skin. the people who beat me kept me on a chain that was in a pole on concrete. I was always kept on the concrete in the sun with no shade just a little bit of water when they came to beat me and a tiny amount of food. I also had infections in both of my eyes and ears. I could barely see and my ears were very red and hurt a lot. My daddy saved me. He and I are both scared that this time he won't be able to save me from my cancer. I still have a lot of things to do! I have balls to chase, squirrels and lizards to run after, waves to jump in at the beach, car rides and my daddy's favorite thing I do is dig big big holes in the backyard. I'm playing my daddy does not like me digging, but I promise to stop if I can get my cancer treatments. Just kidding, I dig to China! If you can help me please do. My daddy and my baby sister will be lost without me. If we raise more than enough for my treatment I want to donate it all to German Shepard Rescues to help my friends who weren’t as lucky as me to be adopted by an awesome Daddy. If you would like to donate directly to my doctor instead of here please contact Animal Cancer Care Clinic at [phone redacted]. Dr Evan Sones. Thank you!
