My Dad has been a single father of two for over five years. He has his own handyman business and has always worked very hard to provide for his family. Recently my grandma passed away and since then he has been very sick. In June of this year he went into the ICU due to acute liver failure, corrosive esophagitis and hematemesis (throwing up blood). During his stay at the hospital he was laid off from a big job that would’ve lasted a few months. Physically he is also unable to work. When he got home from the hospital he received a notice that he would have to leave his house with his two kids in 60 days. Since his first hospital stay he has been back and forth from doctor appointments and getting countless tests. My dad has been admitted to the hospital three times now and now has a long list of prescriptions he has to take as well as medical problems which include: •Cirrhosis of the liver •Acute kidney injury•Hepatorenal syndrome•Ascites•Acute renal failure•Thrombocytopenia •Hepatic encephalopathy •Coagulopathy 895D4C2A-1F85-410D-9F4D-3E3468C34C33.JPG He has to get the fluid drained from his stomach almost weekly. He is having a very hard time financially since he has been unable to work and are in the process of getting him on disability but in the meantime the bills are piling up and it’s hard to heal and rest when he is worried about not being able to provide for his family and possibly being homeless. It’s a miracle that he is here still and his faith in God and the love for his family is what keeps him fighting. My dad has a lot of pride and it isn’t easy for him to be in a place where he needs to ask for help so I’m asking for him and my little brother and sister. I’m asking for prayers as well as financial support that will go toward paying his bills, helping support the kids and hopefully getting into a low income apartment until he can get back on his feet.
