Hi Friends, It is true- I've got Esophagal Cancer. After PET/CT scans they found cancer in my esophagus and 3 lymph nodes. On August 6, 2019 I will have surgery to put in a port for chemo and a feeding tube for nutrition. After this procedure I will start radiation 5 days a week and one those days will consist of chemo. If all goes well and the tumor shrinks I will have an extensive surgery lasting 4-8 hours to remove the cancer. During this time I will be off work. My doctor's say this is a 6-8 month recovery period. As many of you know for decades I have worked in upper valley Napa in the building trade. I am a third generation Calistogian! I have worked for many of you and hope you find it in your heart to make this difficult journey a little bit easier for me and my family.
