December 17, 2012
Greetings to you!
It gives me pleasure to inform you that I am seeking the office of President of the 5th Episcopal District Laymen's Organization of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Inclusivity, transparency, Youth and Young Adults, and Social Service has always been my domain of work, and serving as a leader within and outside the walls of the Church gives me incomparable satisfaction.
I have been actively involved with the Laymen's Organization since the time I graduated from the Missionary Society's YPD program (Youth Program of the Church) and have seen the Lay organization continuously growing.
I am very eager to win this election and subsequently in serving the people of the 5th Episcopal District Laymen's Organization as well as being your representative across the Connectional Church. As of now, the plan is that the campaigning will start in the next month (January 2013). The campaign requires some funds to boost the election strategy, and contribution in the funds from your part will make a huge difference to the whole campaign.
Even the smallest of your contribution is going to benefit; and I promise you that if I'm elected, not only will I put my best forward, but I will not allow your dollars to go to waste. Any remaining funds will be donated back to the 2013 Evening of Elegance event:(An event to raise funds for the Laymen's Organization Operating Account and our Scholarship Program). Thanking you in advance and expecting for the best.
Thank you in advance,
Simeon P. Rhoden Jr., First Vice President & Candidate for President
5th Episcopal District Lay Organization
