My GMA, Joanne Wille, lost her extensive and rigorous fight with cancer a little over 6 months ago. She was only 68 years young.It all started 10 years ago when she was diagnosed with multiple cancers. After intense chemo treatments she conquered the first round and lived cancer free for the next 9 years.Her summers were spent on Fire Island where she met a lot of great people and friends over the years. There was no place that she loved more than Kismet.In March of 2018, the cancer came back. This time, she had multiple large sized tumors on her spine as well as spots on her lungs. Last summer was not spent on the beach like her previous summers. After many hospital stays and surgeries, my GMA passed away in October. 2018 - ending her 8 month uphill fight with cancer. My family would like to give back and raise money for cancer research. If we can prevent other patients and families from suffering as we did, we would be extremely grateful.Thank you for your generosity. This summer we will be celebrating her birthday in her honor at her favorite spot, Kismet.
