Our Mother Deserves to Have A Service

My mother, Jean Arwood, formally Jean Davis, originally Jean Louise Anderson, was one of the most amazing women to walk this Earth, and walk this Earth she did! She was a top model in the fashion industry, and had even met my father throughout that career, they did so well together, creating two incredible children, my older sister Brooke, and myself. After their separation and divorce, however, she was lucky enough to meet another man, Jim Arwood, who truly loved her so! And she gave birth to a third child, Jimmy, with Jim, blessing him with another child and his first son. However, sadly, she had come down with dementia around 2007, or ‘08. But had hid it so well, because she was a legit BOSS, at least until 2011/12. It wasn’t until 2013, that I realized my step father was actually my 2nd father for taking care of my mother so well throughout this disease. In 2015, she, as strong a woman as they come, had to surrender her car keys as she was no longer capable to drive. In 2016 she was accepted into an Assisted Living Facility where she slowly degraded as Dementia took hold. On July 11, 2019, at 11:08 AM she had finally passed, going nearly 2 weeks without eating.She was as strong as they come, and as good a mother as could be described.I am trying to find a service fit for her, and to fly to be there for it. I’m in Florida, and she’s in Phoenix.I’m asking for $5k to make this happen. So please, I’m begging anyone able to help to do so. I loved her with every bit of me, and so did my sister, and her third child, Jimmy, please help us give her a send off worth her while!

EDIT: I will personally photograph the entire event, and I will create something of a memoir for it, naming each and every person that helped make it happen! Thank you so much, you don’t know how much it means to me!

UPDATE: We are all so overwhelmed with the fantastic support from all of our friends and their friends. Thank you so much! We have not come up with a specific date yet, but our mother’s service will take place between the 24th and 26th, and it most likely will happen on the 25th, so long as we can make it happen.

UPDATE #2: This is to give more perspective to what exactly the funds will go to. It will be my flight arrangements to fly to Phoenix and back to Tampa. It will be preparations, and materials needed to hold and host the service. Any left over will go first to thank you notes, and the like. Any left over after will be utilized to make up for loss of income due to travel and bereavement time.
