Help to save the family home

Hi, I'm Bonnie Maine. I am trying to help my daughter Dawn Dimeo and her 2 kids, Deztiny and Dustin, come up with tax money to save our family home that has been in the family since it was built in 1977. My mother was killed in front of me and my brother after being struck by a tractor trailer when I was 17. The money I got for losing my mother was used to buy the land and have the house built. Then, in 1992 I lost four of my children in a car fire in Rhinebeck. My husband and I got a divorce and he kept the house.

To make a long story short, last year he made an agreement with our daughter Dawn to sign the house over to her for $10,000 that she got from disability with her also paying the back taxes. She immediately paid one full year of back taxes. Then, two months ago he gave her papers stating that the remaining 10,000 (with interest) in back taxes would have to be paid in full by October 8, 2019, or the house would be taken. The house cannot be signed over to her until the back taxes are paid as well.

I always wanted the house to stay in the family, and so does Dawn and her two kids. Everyone was there when my four kids died, and I thank everybody for that. I am hoping you all will help Dawn keep her home. Although she has money in savings, it is still not enough to pay off the reamining taxes and acquire the home back from the bank before it is taken for good on October 8, 2019. I know it is asking for a lot, and it would be a miracle to receive enough, but we are looking into every option to save the family home.

Dawn did not want a gofundme created, but I know she has exhausted other options, which is why I created this so late. She is always donating to others, as well as helping her daughter pay her way through college at RIT.
