Some not so good news ....
Oh boy- Some of you may have heard that my follow up scans show the cancer has spread- Unfortunately it’s true -metastasized to my other lung, spine, liver, right shoulder and both hips :( That means I am now stage 4 Lung cancer with mets. Non- curable, but treatment will prolong my life as much as possible. I will keep fighting and I welcome survival tips tricks and alternative therapy suggestions <3
I am looking at more radiation and more aggressive chemotherapy in the very near future. I got some blood work done that will hopefully identify a protein in my tumors that can be targeted using target therapy. I am praying hard that I have a protein that has a target therapy associated with it- this could add significant time for me. Please help me lift this high in your prayers.
Currently I am back at work part time light duty with lots of restrictions, but my doctors say the bones in my hips are at high risk for fractures and I may need to cut my hours further or stop working. ( Losing 30 pounds reduced the weight bearing load on my hips - it’s actually a blessing in disguise :) One day at a time right ?
Oh what a time to be thankful and truly connect with people we adore. I love this time of year and I love the true concept of being thankful. On top of that- things get put in perspective pretty quick when you or someone you love is working to beat cancer. On Thanksgiving morning my dad would blast a gospel song to wake up the house “every day is a day of Thanksgiving” So true!
I am beyond thankful for each of you everyday.
P.S. the black spot over my bladder is not cancer -its a collection of dye they use
Our beautiful and bright Jenny needs our help. In June 2019, my cousin went to the doctor after experiencing chest pain and discovered that she has stage 3 lung cancer. This news was a shock to us all as Jen has has been in really good health and doesn't smoke. We are very thankful that she found this out now and has a wonderful medical team working with her to begin the fight.
Now she will be undergoing 6 weeks of chemo therapy and radiation to beat this cancer. In doing so, she will be taking time off of work and paying for this expensive treatment.
Jenny is the person who will stop everything to help a friend, family member, or stranger and now it is our turn to support her!
Our family would appreciate any finanical contribution that you are able to provide as soon as possible since her treatment will start in mid-July. Please also send Jenny prayers, thoughts, love, and hugs. Thank you!
