Keith Hindman

Keith, my husband, best friend and father of my two children was in a freak motorcycle accident Sunday evening. Keith, being an experienced rider decided to take a friends bike out for a simple cruise after a long day at the lake. I had been following him home when I saw him slowly vear right off the highway. the bike was totalled and he was flown 50 feet from the bike into tall grass. after CT scans, MRI and multiple doctors diagnosis, keith had a C3, c4, c5, facet fracture, c5 burst and the vertebrae was pushed onto his spinal cord. Keith was immediately sent to Neuoscience ICU and they completed c3-4, c4-6 anterior cage, removal of c5 and c3-6 fusion. Keith had also fractures his tibia and ankle joint causing him to have multiple surgeries. Keith has been a stay at home dad for the past 8 years with our two disabled children. Brendyn (12), profound deaf and Ava (9), profound deaf with Autism. He graduated in 2018 with his Master's degree from Kansas University while raising our children. He finally was accepted to start his dream job 2 months ago and he was beside himself of how happy he was to provide for his family. Financials has not been easy for us through the years and now with everything going on, plus the needs of our children, I am worried. After the hospital stay, they are expecting Keith to undergo intensive physical therapy to gain strength for weeks or months. Our children's primary communication is American Sign Language which his hands and arms must be used. We will stay at a rehab and complete therapy as long as he needs to regain muscle strength to be able to sign to our children. Fortunately, his dream job provided health insurance on day one and we are able to utilize it, however, his deductible is around $5,000. Thank you for all the love and support that you all have given. one day at a time we will get our Keith back.
