Hello, my name is Aaron Young, and this handsome boy is named Ryder. I was unexpectedly blessed with Ryder last summer when he was 3 months old. When the time came for his first vet appointment, I received some bad news. Multiple vets confirmed that Ryder has a grade 4 heart murmur, with a grade 6 being the most serious. Ryder’s condition has gotten progressively worse as he has started to faint during times of physical activity and excitement because of his heart’s inability to deliver sufficient oxygen to his brain. His very serious heart condition, that will lead to heart failure if left untreated, has made it difficult for him to gain weight and be an energetic puppy. Ryder loves to play fetch, and he would play all day long if he could. However, Ryder’s weak heart prevents him from doing so. At just one year old, Ryder could have a long life ahead of him, if he undergoes surgery to fix his heart. Being a young college student, I find myself in a difficult situation. I would do anything to help Ryder live a long life, but the surgery that will cost around $5,000 is not something that I can afford at this point in my life. Any donation to help my boy live the life that he deserves would be greatly appreciated.
