I’m Jason Gednalski. I live in Minnesota with my wife, Ellie and two kids. We belong to a small church in Prior Lake, which is where we met the Gold family. I’m raising money to ease the burden of their sudden medical expenses. On May 30th, our friends learned their 11-year-old daughter, Hope, had a brain tumor. This devastating news came after a six-week mystery illness that progressed from stomach upset to double vision, hearing loss and dizziness. Hope had emergency surgery to install a drain and relieve the massive pressure on her brain. On June 5, surgery was performed again and successfully removed the egg sized, non-cancerous tumor. Recovery was going well until a serious bacterial infection invaded her brain fluid and ventricles. She will need to be on IV antibiotics for three weeks. There is only one drug that is effective. Throughout this journey, Hope has remained a light to everyone at the hospital. Making cards for other kids and handing out cupcakes that were meant for her are just a couple things she does to bring happiness to those around her. Hope’s father is the pastor of our church in Prior Lake. Her parents constantly minister and give to those in need and we feel God’s pressing on our hearts to do something to ease the financial burden that this illness created. For I John 3:17-18 says, “But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him? Little Children, let us not love in word or talk, but in deed and in truth.”
