Lorena is a daughter, a sister, a wife and a loving mother of two beautiful children.  Lorena is also a nurse who has dedicated her whole life caring for others.  Never did we imagine that one day she would be the patient requiring help.  In May Lorena was diagnosed with a blood cancer called Multiple Myeloma. This is a cancer in which a group of plasma cells becomes cancerous and multiplies. This type of cancer is treatable but not curable.   As of this time 80% of her plasma in her bone marrow is cancerous and she will be undergoing extensive treatments to reduce this number. She is currently completing her first cycle out of 6 of chemo via immunosuppression therapy.  The second step will be high doses of IV chemo and the last step will be her going to Standford hospital for a stem cell transplant.  The goal is to get her to remission, but she will require to continue medication for the rest of her life.  She has been placed on medical leave due to complications from the cancer and side effects of the medication.  If you find it in your heart and would like to donate for her treatments, please do so in the link above.
