Wheelchair modified Vehicle for Azzrah
Azzrah is Our Amazing 9 year old son, he is a special little man in more ways than one. He has
complex special needs including a life limiting disorder called Lennox Gastaut Syndrome, a rare form of uncontrolled refractory epilepsy. Along with, Mild right sided Cerebral Palsy, Severe Global Developmental Delay and Complex Communication Disorder, delayed swallowing and lung issues.
Azzrah requires full time care, assistance and support from Team Azzrah… Neuro, Palliative Care, Nursing, Therapy and Support workers, most of all his Mum, Dad and families.
Azzrah has tried all epileptic medications available, so under the recommendations of his Neuro Team, Azzrah will be undergoing brain surgery later this year. This is a quality of life procedure, not a cure. Having to take this next step is the Hardest decision we as a family have ever had to make.
We are trying to raise further funds for Azzrah’s new car, so we can have a safer and wheelchair friendly vehicle for Our Family attend medical appointments, school and social outings. Azzrah is growing fast and is a healthy 41kg and just a little too heavy and unsafe for Me to continue to lift and transfer Azzrah to and from the car and wheelchair multiple times a day. Having a wheelchair vehicle will completely remove this back breaking task from our daily routines and social activities in the community.
So far we have been lucky enough to secure$15000 to go towards the vehicle from Baldivis Lions, Team Fred and Variety Club, whilst this is Amazing ,we are hoping to raise some more to reduce the financial impact of purchasing a brand new vehicle.
Having to swallow your pride to ask for help is such a hard thing and we understand it is an expensive time for all, so any donation no matter how big or small, would be so greatly appreciated….every bit counts. If you’re not in the position donate, we completely understand and you encourage and ask you to share this page with your family and friends in the hope they may be able to help Azzrah’s funding raising plight.
Thank you to everyone for taking the time to read this.
