Urgent Surgery Needed And About To Lose Insurance!

As many of you know, last October I had multi level fusion surgery in my neck, 10 months after rebuilding my lumbar and inserting rods and screws from my bra line to my pelvis to hold up my collapsing spine. Two years before I had both hips replaced, revision surgery on the right two weeks after my replacement and later that year micro decompression surgery on L4/5 to give me some relief until full reconstruction would be done on my spine. While my warrior spirit has remained strong, the financial strain has taken a toll with many sleepless nights, the feeling of failure overwhelming, and the sheer frustration of fighting for disability benefits, my body hasn’t healed itself this go round. A couple months ago I started feeling numbness and tingling down my left arm along with pain under my left scapula, loss of feeling in my left hand and a couple of unexplained sudden dizzy spells, one resulting in a fall. My recent CT scan revealed one of the screws in my neck has become loose, pressing on nerves causing these symptoms. The two upper vertebrae have healed swiftly, but for reasons unknown C7/T1, not so much. Repairs need to be made IMMEDIATELY or the nerve damage could be permanent. I am so deep down the rabbit hole financially at this point, if anything happened to Stephen I would be homeless. My insurance premiums are two months behind and soon to be three at which point my insurance will be cancelled. I’ve been at war with Blue Shield all year. My payment is late, pharmacy benefits revoked. The cost of my monthly medication is MORE than my premium. They won’t accept partial payments. I can’t stop my meds. I can’t afford both. My surgery is in a week. I need to catch up my premiums immediately. My pre op appointments start in the morning. In addition to the immediate issue, I am badly in need of dental work. Right before my neck surgery the tooth holding my bridge broke. I am missing three teeth on the upper left and have two broken ones on the bottom right. Because of the plate in my neck and my throat not able to completely expand, if anything large happens to slip through I’m in big trouble. Stephen has needed to perform the Heimlich twice because a piece of apple was stuck. It was very scary. If I stick to chewing on the right, everything gets stuck in the broken molars. One of those teeth needs a root canal, so there is a pain factor, infection and for awhile deep acne near the corners of my mouth as well as painful cracks in the corners of my lips. I haven’t had those since I had braces and now I’ve had them for 18 months. Paying my insurance premium is of utmost importance. My dental situation has been on hold for a very long time. It would mean the world to me to get the work done. I am reaching out for your help. I have always tried my best to be a good person and kind to others. Through my yoga practice I have learned it’s OK to ask for help. We all need it sometimes. This issue is obviously a time sensitive one.
