Wendy Weston’s Lung Cancer Surgery

A little over a month ago we found out my mom has lung cancer. You never want to hear of a loved one suffering from that scary word and our world changed over night. If you know my mother, you know she is a fighter and has been through things most will never endure. My mother has always put others before herself. Serving as a police officer for 13 years, a social worker for 10 years, and is now a drug and alcohol counselor. The first week of July my mom will be undergoing a lobectomy (removal of most of her left lung).This is not an easy surgery and she will spend a week in the hospital following weeks/months of recovery at home. During this process, she will obviously not be working. My mom spent numerous weeks in the hospital a few months back, and has used up all paid leave. Obviously I want to do anything to make her feel less stressed and want her to focus on recovery only and not worrying about making ends meet with rent and medical bills.
