Hello, helloooo?
This is Aurora.
I have a boo boo in my brain.
So I have to go to the hospital again.
Mommy and Daddy and my big sister Ariel will need your help and support!

Aurora Marie Dunn was born on May 25th, 2016. Aurora is a happy little girl who loves to make people laugh. She is caring, thoughtful, brave and resilient. She goes to preschool, spends hours cooking in her play kitchen, is obsessed with ice-cream sandwiches and is always hungry for one of Nonnie's special grilled cheese sandwiches.

Aurora was born with an ARACHNOID CYST, a pocket within the brain membrane that fills with cerebro-spinal fluid and expands day by day. Her first surgery a year ago, drained the cyst for a short while. But in just one year, the cyst has filled and grown to 10 cm, and is now pushing on the midline of the brain requiring immediate attention to prevent irreversible neurological damage.

THE SURGERY: Two neurosurgeons will work together to perform an OPEN FENESTRATION by craniotomy. Her skull will be opened to gain access to the cyst. The cyst will be opened permanently allowing the fluid to drain continuously into the outer area of the skull and absorbed naturally into her body.

July 3rd, 2019: Mike and Nicolle Dunn will stand beside their baby girl surrounded by monitors, machines, and men and women in scrubs and masks, as she is sedated, hooked to an IV, has her head shaved and is prepped for urgent surgery on her brain.

THE DUNN FAMILY: Mike and Nicolle are high school sweet hearts. They are hard-working, active and well loved members of their Fairfield County community. They are caring, involved and committed parents to 5 year old Ariel, 3 year old Aurora, and Baby Dunn arriving October 2019.

Mike and Nicolle put their family first. Their girls mean everything to them and they make spending time with them a priority. They are generous and thoughtful and are the first to help a friend or neighbor in need.

The medical expenses are enormous, even with good coverage. Three years of doctor visits, MRIs, therapies, 2 major surgeries, and time off from work to be by her side have left Mike and Nicolle with hefty bills to carry.

PLEASE SHOW THE DUNN FAMILY YOUR LOVE AND SUPPORT!
