UPDATE:
On June 8, 2019 5:15PM (June 9, 10:15AM Guam time) my mother was called to rest.
My mom was a light in a lot of peoples lives. She was a goofy character and brightened up any room she step foot in. She made people laugh and she told many great stories. She was always so very loving and supportive of her family; always took care of them before herself. She would visit my grandmother, who suffered a stroke ten years ago and is now bed ridden, every day after work at Saint Dominic’s nursing home. She even volunteered her time there. She went to church every Sunday and volunteered there too. She gave back so much and asked for very little. She is the strongest woman I know and I know she will watch down on us and continue to make sure we are all okay.
You can rest now, mom.

Hello, my name is Wilma Ventura. Pictured above is my mother, Vilma. She turned 50 this past March and recently wed her longtime boyfriend Pete. The last time my son and I physically saw her was on his first birthday (he is now 3) when she flew from Guam to the mainland for her first time ever. For the last two years she has been battling cancer, undergoing chemo therapy, taking radiation pills, anything you can imagine to help fight this disease. Recently, she had to stop chemo and taking any sort of medication as it started to affect her health negatively; impacting several internal organs. She was admitted to the ER a week ago, April 29, 2019 and has since been in the ICU. My mom has been a powerhouse all my life. She has always supported and cared for others before herself. It’s hard to imagine that not long ago she was living a happy and healthy life. This time, I want to be able to give her the support she needs. If you’ve read up to this point I want to thank you for your time and your help should you decide to contribute. I ask for your well wishes and to keep my mother in your prayers. Thank you all so much.
