Giving the gift of becoming
A young lady walks into our classroom. She wants to earn a GED. Within months she does. She moves on and earns a dental tech certification and secures a job in a Doctors office. That's becoming.
A homeless man walks in looking for a shower. Instead, over time, he cleans up, earns a GED and then earns a paralegal associates degree. He becomes gainfully employed. That's becoming.
Ty came into class only because she had to not because she wanted to. Nonetheless, she went on to earn her GED. From there she enrolled into college for two short certificates. She earned both and maintained a 4.0 GPA which earned her the right to join the Honor Club Society. She also earned a scholarship and went on to earn a degree.
Won't you help more to become?
1) Help them earn a GED
2) Prepare them to enter the job market or go to college
3) Equip them with life and academic skills to help them succeed
4) To be able to stand on their own two feetWe need your help to supply the two classrooms we work in now, we need the following;
3) Whiteboards and markers
5) Binders with filler paper and page dividers
6) Electric pencil sharpener
7) Digital overhead projectors with screens
8) Three hole punch
The picture below is a space that is being donated to PAX. While we are thankful for this space, it is not ours. We do not have supplies and cabinets. We must carry in all of our material. A four drawer filing cabinet would allow us to leave supplies on site.
This year, without a physical location rented or owned by PAX, PAX has reached out and touched the lives of some 1300 people,
adults and youths through partnerships with several community partners. In the last few months, 90 plus people have earned a GED.
Earning a GED is just the start.
None of these stores could happen without the dedication and hard work of all the volunteers who have made this possible. PAX is completely operated by volunteers, from the Directors to the tutors and all others in between. They work with very little but accomplish a lot. Its time that these dedicated women and men, tutors, teachers and students have a place they can call their own. A classroom! IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO DONATE, you can via this GoFundMe, through out website listed below or by sending a check to the address listed below.

We like to call this becoming. It is a privilege, honor and joy to watch a person so far down on their luck they feel they are complete failures slowly learn that they can learn, and they can succeed. Then of course, we get to watch them grow and become something completely different. Much like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon. Our Vision and Mission Vision
: To give students, both young and old, the best possible chance to succeed in academia and life.Mission:
PAX Learning Center’s mission is to provide professional teachers and tutors to adults and youth who did not finish high school and aid them in achieving their educational, employment and life goals. Please Donate
Our goal is to raise $3000. This is the cost supplying a classroom. In comparison to the public-school system, PAX spends pennies on the dollar in educating a person and bringing them up to high school equivalency. Donations will provide the tools we and the students need to succeed.
None of this can happen or does, without your support. Thank you for all that you have done in helping PAX grow, and helping people Become.
