Hello everyone this is Randi & John Derek, Denise Smith’s children. Sadly, our mom had an accident while at a family reunion in Alabama. She mistook a cellar door for a bathroom door in the middle of the night and plunged head first down a flight of stairs 20 feet below. She broke both her wrists & hit her head very hard causing a mild concussion, plus 4 cracked ribs. We are having her flown back here on Wednesday to recover here at home in Texas. My mom just started a new job recently & has not reached her 90 day mark for insurance to kick in. We are asking for donations to help cover the cost of her medical bills, as well as her own bills over the next few months since she will not be able to work during this time. Anything helps & we would be so thankful for any advice during this time. If you know of a rehabilitation center that would help her recover or anything similar, then please let us know.
