FIGHT 4 COACH SKIP

Donation protected
Bernard “Skip” Parker is known for being many things: a Marine, a coach, a mentor, a community servant, a son, a husband and father, a friend and more. But above all, he is strong. And since his diagnosis with Stage IV colon cancer in May 2017, he has not given up.

The intensity of Skip’s treatment has prevented him from working for the last 2 years, and even as a one-income household, the Parkers are too humble to ask for help. So, on behalf of the Parker family, we ask that you join us in raising funds to support Coach Skip and his fight against cancer.

Skip began his coaching career as an assistant wrestling coach when Fort Dorchester High School first opened its doors in 1992. He has held numerous assistant and head coaching positions for wrestling and football in Dorchester County. Over the last 27 years—from Take Down Clubs to Sertoma to middle and high school teams—Coach Skip has motivated, mentored, and guided hundreds of young people both on and off the fields and mats.

Together with Nan and their two boys, Johnathan and Drew, Skip has poured his heart and soul into his community, not only through coaching, but also by showing his teams how to serve others, such as by spending every Christmas morning delivering Toys for Tots or doing yard work and cleaning for those unable to do for themselves.

For the last 2 years, Skip has been receiving aggressive chemotherapy treatments, and the oncologists have used nearly every play in the book. Skip and Nan are now preparing for the next phase of treatment, which includes travel for participation in clinical trials.

From insurance deductibles to travel expenses to possible treatment with investigational therapies, the Parkers need our help now more than ever. Skip remains strong. He is NOT out of options, but every dollar will help him and his family tremendously and allow him access to the best possible treatment to continue this fight!

As a community, we have an incredible opportunity to support our dear friend and family in this biggest time of need. Click the DONATE NOW button to enter your contribution. If you cannot help monetarily, please join us in praying for the Parkers.

Please share in Skip’s story. Thank you, and God bless.
