Hi, I’m writing on behalf of Amir, a dear friend and widely loved producer whose car was broken into on Friday night, resulting in a broken window, but more, and tragically, his entire vinyl collection.

Anyone who knows Amir knows that this music — to which he brings new life through his remarkable ear for history and cultivation of community — is precious not only to him but to all of us who have had the privilege of knowing him and hearing him. Its loss is more than physical and represents years of research, travel, ingenuity, and creativity, disrupted.

While the ephemera of this collection cannot be recovered, we hope that the funds raised can help to support the reconstruction of a new collection so that he can continue in his craft, and on his way to sharing it with us, get there safely (repaired window) ❤️
