World Masters Championships Montreal 2019

Hi family & friends, The exciting news is I've qualified for the World Masters Championships. It is in Montreal 16-24th Aug 2019.! It was suggested by my friends to start a GoFundMe page, although it’s hard to ask for help.What an exciting journey it has been so far, from average everyday crossfit person, to becoming a coach at CrossFit VLT in the city and then moving to the Airport West box. This is when I realised my passion for Olympic Weightlifting. Many of you see me spend many hours everyday on the back platforms doing my thing. I train 2 hours a day, 5 days a week on top of my full time job as a firefighter, which is shift work. When I’m not training at VLT I’m traveling down to train with my wonderful coach.!! After a year off, surgery for skin cancer and the hectic nature of life and taking in foster children, this year I am back competing. Winning both state and national championships earlier this year and couldn’t be more proud to be able to wear the green and gold uniform again. Unlike athletes competing at a high level at other sports, in masters for weightlifting unfortunately there is no funding assistance. Now this is where I come to you, to ask for financial support to get me there. Your money will go directly towards getting me there. The registration, airfares, accommodation and uniforms, it’s all adding up. To have the support of my family, friends and the Crossfit VLT community would be amazing and also help keep me focused the next 16 weeks.So if you can, please consider a donation of any size and I would be forever grateful.
