Jerry Crick Memorial Fundraiser
Donation protected
Pastor Jerry Crick was a devoted husband of 49 years, a father and grandfather. He was a selfless gentleman who held many passions including the ministry of Christ and helping others.
He was an accomplished humanitarian, photographer and musician. For many years, he was the head photographer at REI, photographing while scaling mountains, flying in a helicopter with the doors off, standing on top of the Space Needle, and ice climbing. He pastored churches in Washington, Wisconsin and Colorado, and was known for his wisdom and ability to bring calm out of chaos. He was known for doing things like organizing food banks at churches and contributing personally to crisis situations, providing money for rent, education, furniture, and more.
On April 17, 2019, Jerry passed away from complications of Multiple System Atrophy, which he battled for eleven years. MSA is a neurodegenerative disease that mimics M.S., Parkinson's and Lou Gehrig's Disease. Throughout the time of his illness, he didn’t complain, and continued to look for ways to serve others.
He is free from the pain, waiting to dance with his wife when they meet again. Jerry was an artist at heart. Not only was he a photographer, he also sang, played guitar, and recorded music. Many in his family have followed in his footsteps – his daughter Rachel is a photographer, his granddaughter Rose will study vocal performance in college, and his granddaughter Grayce is already accomplished in the world of musical theatre preparing to enter a conservatory program this fall.
Memorial services will be held May 4 at 1:00 at Northshore Community Church 10301 NE 145th ST, Kirkland WA 98034. May 4th just happens to be Star Wars Day - the perfect day to memorialize Jerry as this was his favorite movie franchise. He shared this love with his children and his beloved Grayce.
In lieu of flowers or meals, the family is humbly accepting donations to help with memorial/end of life expenses. One of Jerry’s regrets was his inability to financially support his grandchildren in their pursuit of higher education and/or study of the arts. In his honor any additional funds raised will go toward funds for his grandchildren and their passions/education.
Erika Kahler, family friend, is managing this effort on behalf of the Crick family, as they grieve the loss of Jerry.
