Chris's Second Chance
Hi everyone. My name is Chris, many of you already know my story. For those who don't, 6 years ago I was diagnosed with a form of brain cancer. For the first 5 years I underwent radiation treatments and took several medications. I kept working throughout this time and fought every day to keep as much normalcy in my life as possible.
Nearly a year ago I was given a terminal diagnosis with a 6 week expectancy. I realized that I needed to change my priorities and focus on my time left. I made it to my brother's graduation. I saw my nephew's first birthday. My mother and I took a much needed trip to the Washington/Oregon coast. I made the most of what I had.
My 6th week came. Then my 7th. Then more and more time had passed and I remained. As time passed though I felt my energy fade. It had dwindled over the years but it all but left me in those weeks. As of the start of last fall I have had temporary stays with a few amazing friends. Continuing the fight to take every extra day I could.
In the last 2 weeks I have found a new footing and want to take my whole life back from this destructive disease. I have picked up 2 part time jobs to generate a much needed income. At the moment however I am stuck to a very inadequate bus schedule and desperately need a basic vehicle for commute.
I am grateful for your prayers and humbled by any donations you can offer to help me take my life back. If there are any opportunities for a vehicle or even a fulltime job in the Gig Harbor/ Fife/ South Tacoma area that you may know about please feel free to contact me. [phone redacted] Thank you all for this second chance.
