Cheryl's Story (Signet Ring Cell Cancer)

Can you see the photo? Look at it! That is Cheryl on the far left, on holiday with her 3 younger sisters. Let me tell you little bit about our beautiful Cheryl Rose.

Cheryl is the eldest sister of 4, her younger sisters being Jeanette, Sharon and Joanne. She has 3 loving children, 6 gorgeous grand children, is an auntie to 8 and has many friends who love her very dearly.

Those who know Cheryl will agree that she is a kind, loving, caring and selfless person with a heart of gold. Cheryl is the first person that would help others in need.

Here is her story.

In July 2017 Cheryl was suffering with excruciating abdominal pains in her stomach and attended numerous GP appointments due to this. After a long battle with the GP, Cheryl managed to get referred to London Hospital for an Ultrasound and nothing was found, but it was suspected that she had Ovarian Cancer. Finally, on the 14th October 2018 she was admitted to London Hospital where she had a full hysterectomy and after was informed by doctors that she has Signet Ring Cell Cancer and also had a very small tumour near the bowel. Cheryl was only given 6-12 months to live and so far it has been 18 months and she is still battling!

Now, let me tell you a little bit about Signet Ring Cell Cancer. This is when the tumor contains more then 50% signet rings. Primary Signet Ring Cell Carcinoma is most often found in the glandular cells in the stomach and is very rare, with reported incidents of less than 1% of the entire population. It has a poor prognosis because symptoms often develop too late and usually individuals are diagnosed at an advanced stage.

Upon diagnosis, Cheryl was and always has been determined to kick cancers butt and has gone to all lengths including completely changing her dietary habits, taking chemotherapy sessions and everything else possible recommended to her in efforts to beat this awful disease.

The thing is, all of Cheryl’s organs are perfectly healthy and well, unfortunately due to not having enough funding for this sort of cancer, the only treatment the NHS is able to offer Cheryl is chemo therapy and tablets until one of her organs are no longer strong enough to take anymore poison from the treatment. This combined gives her less than a 10% chance of living longer (so it wouldn’t cure it!) but would attack all of her healthy organs in the process.

We have researched this type of cancer non-stop since we got this devastating news and we are lucky enough to have finally found an alternative treatment for our beautiful Cheryl. But despite all the love and support her family has given her, this unfortunately isn’t enough and we desperately need this money to send her privately to Dr Aryan Tavakkoli who can offer her a 8 week non invasive, alternative treatment which has a very high success rate with this type of cancer. Unfortunately this isn’t funded on the NHS and we need to raise £40,000 for the treatment.

Which is why we NEED every single one of you who are reading this post right now to help! All donations, no matter how big or small will be immensely appreciated by Cheryl and every single one of us, so she can be with her family and friends, where she belongs. ❤️ x x x
