Hi my name is Sharon Burbridge and this February, I’m taking on the 1K a day challenge for Dementia UK – and it’s a cause that’s incredibly close to my heart as my Mum Pat who is 83 years old has Denentia and she is rapidly declining daily, for me more than anything it’s absolutely heartbreaking watching and hearing someone you love disappear a little more each day. I’m doing this challenge to raise money and awareness for Dementia UK, because families like ours need support. Dementia doesn’t just affect the person living with it — it affects everyone around them too.

So for February, I’ll be pushing myself to complete 1K every single day, for my lovely Mum… and for every family facing this awful disease.
