This fall I will be traveling to Pretoria, South Africa to participate in an internship through a non-profit organization called 1Hope4Africa. 1Hope4Africa exists to care for orphans and abandoned children, as well as provide Bible training opportunities to strengthen those in the local church. I will be living at one of the two baby homes: the Atlarela Baby Home or the Muphamuzi Baby Home. The program will last for three months, from September through November 2024. While there, I will care for the babies through three to four shifts per week, dressing, feeding, changing, and playing with them. In addition, I will be serving at a local church in Pretoria called Living Hope Church. Living Hope supports 1Hope4Africa and all of the 1HopeAfrica staff are members at Living Hope Church. I will be able to help there by providing meals for those in the local body, inviting guests into my home, offering child care during church services, and babysitting throughout the week for moms in the church. Even though I am not going to South Africa specifically for a mission trip, I am excited to be in a place working alongside missionaries and look forward to God providing opportunities where I can evangelize.
This internship is unpaid, so my goal is to reach $4,700 of financial support to assist in airfare and living expenses while there by July 1st!
