Evelyn Mae is one of the most inspiring little girls anyone would ever have the pleasure to meet. Her sense of humor is contagious, her determination is relentless, and her will to persevere is nothing short of amazing. Notwithstanding, she has many challenges in her path as she was born with a brain injury that has crippled her ability to function as most of us do. She does not yet swallow consistently so she has a trach to protect her lungs, and since she can't eat by mouth we use a G tube to feed her. Despite these things, all of her doctors have watched with star gazed eyes amazed by what she has achieved thus far.  She still does not crawl or walk at 3 years of age, but her strength and coordination have improved quite a bit due in part to the hours of therapy she participates in daily. Evelyn's family has enthusiastically woven many avenues of therapy into her life and these are proving to be quite effective. These therapies are greatly helping Evelyn achieve more freedom of movement, but the culmination of them along with the doctors' and hospital bills accruing is becoming somewhat of a financial burden and there is still so much more work to do. Evelyn's family is humbly opening their hands and hearts to not only accept gracious donations, but also to share the inspiring story of their little girl's fight to live as any little girl deserves to live.
