On July 6 at 13:13(1:13pm) I was diagnosed with cancer. Colorectal/anal cancer a rare type SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA 2cm cell wall to cell wall all cancer to be exact, a type where about 8000 are diagnosed a year and of those 1600 dont survive.. where if you have treatment for 40 days or more you have a 80% chance of maintaining remission for 3-5 yr and if you received 40 days or less of treatment a 64% chance of maintaining remission for 3-5 yrs. Scary numbers to say the least but with that said im kicking cancers ass any and every time (prayers out to my lord and savior Jesus christ that I only have to fight this once)
I am a single parent who was working 2 jobs to make ends meet. With one child still dependent solely on me. So as a family we talked and decided starting a gofund me page might relieve that additional unnecessary stress allowing me to focus on fighting...and now movingfor better supportand post care.
I am in currently in remission and on long term disability with that comes zero medical insurance and so everything I require is out of pocket leaving me with either adding to the bills or skipping appointments due to an ever growing stack of medical bills and zero insurance. The no Insurance/out of pocket costs are already hitting my family hard. So we are currently making our way (my 16 yr old daughter and I) to California where my mom , family, and support is to further maintain my remission status as colon/rectal/anal cancer is the THIRD most deadly cancer.
Trust me that I am in this for the long race, constantly maintaining positively, encouraging proper colon health and screening by sharing my story.
THERE WAS A PURPOSE BEHIND ME BEING DIAGNOSED WITH THIS DISEASE. ME FIGHTING, MY PERMANENTE LONG TERM CHECMO SIDE-EFFECTS. I ACCEPT AND EMBRACE MY FIGHT AS IT WILL SAVE THE LIVES OF OTHERS.
