199 mile walk from Tidworth to Leeds

I am raising money for a charitable cause that is very important to me so please donate and help me reach my target in aid of Sunshine And Smiles - Leeds Down Syndrome Network.

An old friend of mine Bob and his partner Soph gave birth to the lovely Olive in November 2021 and have been supported by the wonderful people at Sunshine and Smiles.

I will be walking 199 miles which is the equivalent of walking from Tidworth camp in Wiltshire to the Charity door in Leeds.

For the first 7 days I will walk 25 miles a day around the Wiltshire area then get transport to Holmfirth in Huddersfield, walking from there to Leeds on the last day (24 miles).

This will be a gruelling event but it will be worth the pain to secure valuable funding for this fantastic charity and ensures the remarkable work they do continues.

Here is a little something Bob wrote for me….

“Our daughter Olive is amazing, you only have to look at her infectious smile and crazy hair to see how amazing she is.

Olive was diagnosed with Down Syndrome at our 20 week scan along with a complete AVSD (a hole in the heart). As any group of parents during pregnancy you imagine your life when your child arrives. When you receive a diagnosis like DS you know you’ll have to tread a different path, one which you may need a bit of help and guidance with.

Sunshine and Smiles has been that guidance for us. They are a wonderful support network for all children who have Down syndrome and their families. They’ve been invaluable for me, Soph and Olive helping us see that the future for Olive is bright and full of smiles”
