Hi, my name is Willie F. Pride Jr. and I’m in need of your help for my kidney transplant.
In 1965, one of our family members was diagnosed with kidney failure. I was 17 years old at the time. And of all of our family, I was the only one who was compatible. The family was asked if anyone could or would donate a kidney, I said yes. I donated it in 1965, March.
I was told then, because I was a donor, if I ever needed an organ donation, that I would be put at the top of the list, the receiving list.
And now, 60 years later, I am in need of a kidney.
I live in Yakima, Washington, and the nearest hospital that does kidney transplant is in Seattle, Washington, more than 150 miles away.
Now I am at the top of the list for a kidney transplant, and the hospital in Seattle is requiring that I have $5000 saved for living arrangements after the transplant, when I will need to be close to the hospital, and I will need to stay within a 60 minute drive for 4 to 6 weeks following the transplant.
I am in need by the hospital rules at Virginia Mason in Seattle, to have $5000 set aside for housing before they will go ahead with the transplant.
Thank you, and God bless.
