19 & On My Own – Car Crash Left Me Stranded

Hi, my name is Hayden and I’m 19 years old. I’m creating this fundraiser because I recently got into a car accident. I was on a 70mph highway when the truck in front of me suddenly stopped because another car braked hard. His auto brakes kicked in and basically slammed him to a stop. Even though I was already slowing down and had a good distance, I had almost no time to react. I slammed my brakes, but my car kept skidding and I ended up rear-ending him.

Now I’m without a vehicle, without savings, and without any help to fall back on. I’m scared and overwhelmed—but I’m trying to stay strong and find a way forward.

I live completely on my own. I pay for everything…my rent, groceries, gas, bills, every single thing in my life comes from my own paycheck. I don’t have family support. I don’t have a backup plan. And now, I don’t have a car to get to work or survive daily life.

When I rear-ended someone, it wasn’t because I was being reckless. I slammed on the brakes, but they didn’t stop me fast enough. It all happened in a split second, and now I’m left with a car that I can’t drive and no way to fix or replace it. I didn’t have full coverage insurance, and I don’t have money saved. Everything I’ve been working so hard to build just shattered overnight.

I’m not someone who asks for help easily. But this time, I need to. I don’t have anyone else to call, and without a car, I’m stuck. I can’t afford a rental. I can’t afford repairs. And I can’t afford to miss work.

Even $5 helps me get closer to a new beginning. All money will be used towards purchasing a new car for myself that way I can get back to working comfortably and providing for myself.
