In October 2023, my Grandad passed away from throat cancer a few months after his diagnosis.
This loss left an immeasurable hole in my families life. My Grandad was my hero, my role model and my best friend. Throughout his battle, he showed incredible bravery, courage, and love, even on the hardest days. His resilience continues to inspire me every single day.
This is why, since his passing I have completed a running challenge every year in his honour. Over the past 2 years I have raised over £8,000 for Yorkshire Cancer Research.
This amazing charity, provided care and support for my Grandad and my family during his final few weeks with us. They made sure he was comfortable and surrounded by the ones who loved him the most.
Supporting this cause means helping other families receive the same compassion and care that we did. It means honouring my Grandad’s memory and keeping alive the lessons he taught me: to be strong, to be kind, and to face life with courage.
This year Jack and I will be running 180km in 48 hours, from the Sydney Opera House to Newcastle Nobbys Beach. This journey will be nothing on the pain families and cancer patients endure on a daily basis whilst battling this awful disease.
Your support will ensure families will remain supported during the hardest moments of their loved ones diagnosis, like we was with my Grandad.
Thankyou,
Jordan & Jack
