18' Tipi for Standing Rock

My name is Brett Holmquist.  I live in the Flathead Valley of Montana, ancestral and current homeland to the Ktunaxa (Kootenai).  I am raising funds to purchase an 18' tipi skin to bring and donate to the water protectors camps at Standing Rock.  

We already have the poles, liner, door, stakes, pins, and rope donated.  We need to raise $1500 for the skin, a 16oz. hemp canvas product made by Sagebrush Tipi Works (Deb made the tipis for the 13 Indigenous Grandmothers gathering at Crow a few years back).

Additional funds will support fuel for transporation, up to $300.  Anything raised over $1800 will be split evenly between the defense fund and the supply and infranstructure donation effort at the various camps at Standing Rock.  

Funds are needed immediately (no later than Tuesday, November 22, 2016).

I will drive the tipi (along with many other donated supplies we've already obtained) to Standing Rock on Tuesday, November 22, so please donate now so we can bring along this high priority item for the camp!

I stand in solidarity with my Native and Non-Native brother and sisters and support their effort to protect clean water, ancestral sites, treaty rights, and a shared future for all our children that includes justice, liberty, and a healthy natural environment.  

I fully understand my actions and support of this effort are a choice to revalue fossil fuels and the way we all interact with them.  It is time to transition and invest in other forms of energy, dissolve greed and need, and I'm happy to pay the sticker price for that effort, in sweat, pocketbook, and tears.
