My cousins son is about to turn 20 in January. It has been three years since he suffered a sudden heart stop and was brought back to life. After first aid surgeries in the first months (Thank you again for the initial donations!), we've been urgently looking for further treatment and a clinic for vegetative coma patients.
Currently, there are no options of treatment in Lebanon due to severe financial, political and social crisis and the constant threat of the last remaining emergency hospitals to shut down due to lack of electricity and emigrating medical staff. We've been effortlessly searching for a solution abroad, as there's no medical treatments for coma patients in Lebanon, and finally found a medical clinic that can provide the necessary treatments Nour needs as a vegetative coma patient needs. This will be at the Romatem Clinic in Turkey.
Why Turkey? Because this is where Nour and his mother, as Lebanese, will get visa-free entry. Because this is where the treatment is "cheaper" compared to other countries. The costs of a clinic are still immense, but no other options are possible. No treatment will lead to degradation of his current situation. Unfortunately he's already suffering from decubitus and further stiffness, and bacterial infections from his feeding tube due to lack of treatment. I've attached pictures of Nour. It's unbelievable what he has been through, from a super healthy happy teenager dreaming big of a life we all have, enjoy, (and sometimes take for granted) to a state where we are hoping for the best for him.
You will find all details and costs to the treatment in the hospital's letter. But brief: The monthly treatment program will cost 6,500 USD per month and includes all medical nesessaciest. The doctors estimated 24 month of treatment which will cost roughly 200,000 USD.
Nour wants to live, Nour wants to fight, Nour wants to take part in life again someday. The mother, the family, everyone who knows Nour are devastated that given the circumstances in Lebanon he doesn't even have a chance to get better. And we want Nour to get the chance of a medical treatment.
Now we again need the help of all. We are collecting money, in order for Nour to have a chance of living, to get better in the next weeks and months. And maybe one day be able to take care of himself again. Even if you can't donate yourself, please spread the words among your families, friends, any organisation in your city/country, really anyone who could support.

ابن عمي على وشك أن يبلغ 20 عامًا في يناير. لقد مر ما يقرب من عامين منذ تعرضه لتوقف مفاجئ في القلب وتم إعادته إلى الحياة. بعد عمليات الإسعافات الأولية في الأشهر الأولى، كنا نبحث بشكل عاجل عن مزيد من العلاج وعيادة لمرضى الغيبوبة الخضرية. حالياً، لا توجد خيارات علاجية في لبنان بسبب الأزمة المالية والسياسية والاجتماعية الحادة والتهديد المستمر بإغلاق آخر مستشفيات الطوارئ المتبقية بسبب انقطاع الكهرباء وهجرة الطواقم الطبية. لقد بحثنا دون عناء عن حل في الخارج، حيث لا يوجد علاج طبي لمرضى الغيبوبة في لبنان، وأخيراً وجدنا عيادة طبية يمكنها توفير العلاجات اللازمة التي تحتاجها نور كما يحتاجها مريض الغيبوبة الخضرية. وسيكون ذلك في عيادة روماتم في تركيا.
لماذا توكي؟ لأن هذا هو المكان الذي سيحصل فيه نور ووالدته، باعتبارهما لبنانيين، على دخول بدون تأشيرة. لأن هذا هو المكان الذي يكون فيه العلاج "أرخص" مقارنة بالدول الأخرى. لا تزال تكاليف العيادة باهظة، ولكن لا توجد خيارات أخرى ممكنة. ولن يؤدي أي علاج إلى تدهور وضعه الحالي. لسوء الحظ، فهو يعاني بالفعل من الاستلقاء والمزيد من التيبس، والالتهابات البكتيرية من أنبوب التغذية الخاص به بسبب نقص العلاج. لقد أرفقت صور نور. إنه أمر لا يصدق ما مر به، بدءًا من مراهق سعيد يتمتع بصحة جيدة ويحلم بحياة نتمتع بها جميعًا ونستمتع بها (وأحيانًا نعتبرها أمرًا مفروغًا منه) إلى حالة نأمل فيها الأفضل له.

نور تريد أن تعيش، نور تريد القتال، نور تريد المشاركة في الحياة مرة أخرى يومًا ما. الأم والأسرة وكل من يعرف نور يشعرون بالصدمة لأنه في ظل الظروف السائدة في لبنان ليس لديه حتى فرصة للتحسن. ونريد أن تحصل نور على فرصة العلاج الطبي.
