After 16 years of living with endometriosis, I now urgently need complex surgery abroad to prevent further organ damage.
Hi, my name is Louise, and I’m raising £10,000 for life-changing treatment I cannot access in the UK.
I have been living with endometriosis for 16 years, including 13 years with bladder involvement. Over time, my condition has become severe and complex. I now have advanced endometriosis affecting my bladder, kidney, and possibly my diaphragm.
For the past three years, I have done everything I can to access treatment through the NHS, but I have been unable to receive the specialist care my condition requires. I have now been told that there is no surgical team in the UK able to perform the level of complex surgery I urgently need in an acceptable timeframe, especially following a 3 year wait.
I have now found a highly specialised team abroad who can treat me. My surgery will include a bladder reconstruction, along with essential aftercare, making it a complex and intensive procedure. Without this treatment, my condition will continue to worsen and cause further damage to my organs.
The total cost — including surgery, travel, accommodation, medical insurance, and aftercare — is £10,000.
Living with this condition for so long has been physically and emotionally exhausting. It has impacted every part of my life. I just want the chance to live without constant pain and to have a future not defined by this illness.
If you can donate, no matter how small, it would mean everything to me. If you’re unable to donate, sharing my fundraiser would make a huge difference.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can give
