150 MILES FOR ALLISON

Hi my name is Steve and I'm a 53 year old stroke survivor from Co Durham. This isn't about me though, this is about an incredibly brave and inspirational woman named Allison. In February 2020 Allison , 56 was rushed to hospital with suspected menigitis . Her family were told to prepare for the worst and Allison was placed into a coma. Allison contracted Sepsis and as a result had all 4 limbs amputated.
Remarkably Allison survived and has started learning to walk again.
I have decided to set up this fundraiser to help raise funds for equipment to help Allison regain her independence and also to raise awareness of Allison's story.
Allison's partner David has been a friend of mine for many years after previously been work colleagues and I can say hand on heart he is one of the most genuine people I know with a heart of gold
I intend to walk 150 miles over the month of June and while this may not seem a lot to some, to me it will be quite a challenge as I myself have mobility issues following my stroke.However as I said at the beginning this not about me this is about Allison, David and all their family.
