Caola’s Canine Rescue is raising funds to help with the rescue efforts of nearly 150 cats from a hoarding situation in Northern Cambria PA. Myself along with several other local rescues and local police and fire crews responded to situation on Thursday, August 27, 2026. Inside the home nearly 150 cats were found living in deplorable conditions. The odor of ammonia was so strong, hazmat suits were required to enter the home where two adults had currently still been living. Mounds of feces in every corner of ever room, cat urine covered everything in sight, flies, maggots and more. 8-9 deceased kittens were removed from the freezer of the kitchen. This was clearly a case of severe mental health disorders and neglect. The owners will be charged with animal neglect as stated by the police. All of these cats went to fosters, and primarily local rescues. All of the cats will need vetted, vaccinated, treated, spayed and neutered. All of the money raised will be dispersed accordingly amongst the rescues who acquired cats from this case. We can’t thank you all enough for your support!!
