In July, I will be racing my first Ironman: 140.6 miles of swimming, biking, and running.

I've chosen to dedicate this race to my dear friend, Laura Hart.

Laura was an incredible human. She had a contagious, positive energy that spread like sunshine to everyone around her. When she laughed, everyone within a five-mile radius laughed with her. She was a beloved teacher and the kind of friend who went above and beyond for the people she loved.

Most importantly, Laura was a devoted mother to her three beautiful children: Millie, Josie, and Will. Laura's love for her family was fierce and unwavering. Her loss has left an immeasurable space in their lives.

I can't fill that space, but I can use these miles to support her children's future.
