I was at work when I got a call no mother ever wants to receive! My 14-year-old son had caught fire during an accident while working on a vehicle. My husband got his clothes ripped off of him and got him in my daughter's vehicle to rush him to the ER. 911 advised them to pull over, and they took him by ambulance to a highway intersection near our home and airlifted him to the burn ICU unit in North Carolina.
I work as a server at a small restaurant in Bristol, and travel and food expenses are adding up. My son is scheduled for surgery on Thursday, September 11, 2025, and we are unsure of when he will be able to come home or how much this is going to cost. He is keeping the most positive outlook on things. He is ready to come home and go back to school, but not until after a long road of recovery.
Whatever you can spare for our family is a blessing, even if it's a dollar. Please keep my son in your prayers. Thank you. Funds will be used for travel and food expenses as well as medical costs and care when he comes home.
