13 Helpless Guinea Pigs
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Austin, otherwise known as The Pig Room. I am a small business owner who makes products for guinea pigs and a voice within our community to speak on proper care for these small animals. Included in my line of work, I am constantly browsing the web to see what rehoming situations there are. With rescue pigs of my own, I always do what I can to provide for guinea pigs that I see need help, and we have another one of those situations.
I came across a listing of 13 guinea pigs living in one pet store cage. The previous owner had not properly sexed these pigs which resulted in them reproducing multiple times. Unfortunately, this happens all to much and it’s a dire situation to get the males in their own enclosure because they have reached 3 weeks old and run the risk of getting the females pregnant again (if they haven’t already). These pigs have been living off low quality pellets and iceberg lettuce their entire lives and have never been given hay or a suitable living environment. These pigs have never experienced room to run around and popcorn, toys to play with and a loving owner who values their lives.
I have decided to take in these pigs to nurse them back to health and give the the proper care they rightfully deserve. They will stay with me for the amount of time where I can monitor them, restore their health, and tame them so they can be prepared to go off to their new owners.
Any and all donations will cover transportation, payment made to secure these pigs from the previous owner, cage supplies, food, veggies, medical expenses and more. All receipts will be posted to my Instagram (@thepigroom) and a YouTube rescue vlog will be made so you can see the entire rescue process and watch how these piggies thrive in their new environment.
I appreciate any and all help! Even a share of this fundraiser with others would be so kind I thank you guys so much for the support in this crazy rescue and cannot wait to see these piggies happy, safe and healthy.
