13 Years in Green & Gold – Help Ryan Reach the WFCQ in NZ

Hi, I’m Ryan Alexandrakis, and I’ve been proudly representing Australia in floorball for 13 years.

I made my international debut for Australia in 2013 with the U19 national team and then debuted for the Australian Men’s Team in 2016 in Latvia. Since then, floorball has shaped my life in more ways than one. Beyond playing for Australia, I also coach, play at the highest domestic level, and referee, doing everything I can to help grow and support the sport across Australia.

In January 2026, I will be travelling to Wellington, New Zealand for the World Floorball Championship Qualifications for the Asia–Oceania region. Ten nations will be competing, and only four teams will earn their place at the World Championships. Representing Australia in a tournament of this significance is always an honour.

Floorball receives no government or federation funding in Australia and is a sport driven purely from love and passion for the game. Every trip, every training camp, every uniform, and every piece of equipment is fully self-funded by the players.

Over the years, I have committed myself to the game in every way possible:
• Playing as one of Australia’s goalkeepers
• Coaching players at junior and senior levels
• Refereeing to support competitions and help the sport grow locally

It’s a sport I love deeply, and I want to continue contributing to its future, both on and off the court.

In my early years, my family carried a huge financial load so that I could attend tournaments and pursue my dream of representing Australia. Their support laid the foundation for everything I’ve achieved since. I’m incredibly grateful for the sacrifices they made to help me reach this level.

Costs for the January 2026 Trip
• Tournament fees: $4500
• Flights: $1600
• Goalkeeper equipment: $1500

Total estimated: Over $7500

In addition to the costs directly associated with the tournament It also means time away from work and still keeping up with bills and rent back home.

Across my 13-year journey representing Australia, I estimate I have personally invested well over $100,000. This sport has given me incredible opportunities, but the financial strain is now greater than I can manage alone.

Those who know me know this isn’t easy to ask, but I’m reaching out to my community friends, teammates, supporters, and anyone who believes in Australian athletes chasing big dreams. Your support will directly help me compete in the 2026 World Championship Qualifications, continue contributing to the national team, and keep supporting the next generation of floorball players.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering a donation. Every bit of support helps and means more than I can express.
