12th Combat Aviation Brigade Unit Plaque
Calling all veterans and friends of the 12th Aviation Brigade! This storied Army Aviation unit has served the nation from the Vietnam War to the present, and with the opening of the National Museum of the United States Army at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, we now have the opportunity to commemorate our service with a unit plaque on the museum’s Path of Remembrance, leading to the main entrance.
The Army Historical Foundation, the National Museum’s nonprofit partner, seeks to educate Americans to fully appreciate the sacrifices that generations of American Soldiers have made to safeguard the freedoms of this nation. The Foundation is actively engaged in supporting the National Museum of the United States Army by carrying out a major $200 million Capital Campaign. In 2000, the Secretary of the Army designated the Foundation as its primary partner in the building of the National Museum. Besides supporting the Capital Campaign, AHF funding helps to refurbish historical Army buildings, acquire and conserve Army historical art and artifacts, support Army history educational programs, research, and publication of historical materials on the American soldier, and provide support and counsel to private and governmental organizations committed to the same goals as the Foundation. On 11 November 2020, the museum opened to the public!
If you served in the 12th Aviation Group, 12th Aviation Brigade, or 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, please join us in commemorating our service in Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, the Balkans, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Wings of Victory! Army Strong!
