The Welcome Home BBQ Event started on September 18, 2010, by Richard Medina, Michelle Medina and D.J. Cano to welcome and recognize those men and women who are reentering into society and those who have successfully made the transition from prison back into our communities.

Our support and continuous efforts have created a larger network and stronger bonds between the formerly incarcerated and the community. Since the commencement of this event, we have seen a growth each year with nearly a thousand people attending our events and our networks have expanded and assisted in guiding thousands of formerly incarcerated men and women to some of the best reentry organizations in NYC, The Osborne Association, Exodus Transitional Community, The Fortune Society, Bridging Access to Care and Community Minded Organization.
