1,2,3 Puppetry has begun work on its new 2025 show "Somos Uno".
Somos Uno uses puppetry, acting, music and dance to celebrate both Mexican and Latine culture as a whole by showcasing the roots of a culture, the hardships of a culture, and the power of a culture uniting as one to overcome and thrive.
This production is being created by Sol Ramirez under the support of the UConn Puppets Arts program for his Senior Year Project and will be performed in Storrs, CT.
"Sol Ramirez, a junior at the University of Connecticut, is the driving force behind 1,2,3 Puppetry, a local group of young puppeteers based in Chapel Hill. The group promotes the mission of social justice by utilizing performance art of giant puppets, music, masks and movement. By combining entertainment with activism, 1,2,3 Puppetry aims to build a community-centered company through puppetry." - Erin Munn/The Daily Tar Heel
Somos Uno will premier in November of 2025, and work has already begun on script writing, puppet designing, music production, and puppet building! We need your help to make it all possible. Your support will help us be able to buy materials for puppet and set building, as well as allowing us to support the musicians and artists dedicating their time to this production!
