Ger McNamara was a fantastic man who we all miss dearly. He became unwell and was diagnosed with heart failure. As you can imagine this was an enormous shock to everyone that knew him as he was such a fit and vibrant man who loved life.

His chance was a heart transplant, which he received in 2022. This was a scary time for him and his family. However, he was so positive and brave.

Unfortunately, Ger passed away in October aged 59. Everyone is so grateful to ALL donors and their families as it is a difficult decision to make at that time.

Being a donor gave Ger a chance.

We would like to thank ALL the team in the Mater Hospital and University Hospital Limerick.

I'm raising money in aid of THE MATER FOUNDATION which helped my brother through his difficult journey and every donation will help. I will be cycling 120km (the Ring of Clare) on the 22nd of July. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause which means so much to me.
