12 y.o. Emily Hoyos Brain Dead; Family Needs Help

In the evening of March 14th, 2021, Emily and her family were traveling from Tampa to Texas as part of their Spring Break. The family was getting hungry so they decided to make a pit stop in Gainesville, Florida. When Emily’s father was pulling out of a McDonald’s, another vehicle going at high speeds crashed into their car. In the car was Emily’s father, her mother (who is also 5 months pregnant), 2 sisters, 1 brother, 1 uncle and a family friend.

Everyone in the car was severely injured but Emily was the worst. She suffered internal bleeding, fractures and traumatic brain injury. The medical team at Shands UF was hopeful that after the brain swelling went down perhaps Emily would come back. However, this did not come to pass.

Emily is officially brain dead and on life support. There is no hope she will return. The family are currently preparing for the inevitable which should occur in the following days.

Emily’s family is hard working but they need financial assistance to assist with payment of Emily’s funeral expenses.

On behalf of the family, we ask to please contribute anything you can to help them.

All proceeds go directly to the family.

Because of the tragedy, it is an emergency to immediately receive donations for Emily’s family.

Love,

#TeamEmily (On behalf of Emily, Her Father, Mother, Sisters and Brother)

P.S. Please  contact Attorney Gil Sanchez (Black Rock Trial Lawyers) for questions or other ways to help the family.
