12 Years, Countless Hurdles: Help bring baby Sophie home
Donation protected
To our friends, family and wider community,
We write on behalf of our dear friends who have dedicated the past 12 years to realizing their dream of becoming a family. Their journey has been marked by immense sacrifice, countless challenges, and unwavering hope that has finally blessed them with a beautiful little girl, Sophie.
On 23rd February, Sophie arrived a little too early - born at 35 weeks due to a ruptured placenta and delivered by emergency C-section. Although Sophie is incredibly strong, she required immediate intubation and remains in the Neonatal ICU. With NICU care rapidly escalating at over $1800 a day, her ongoing treatment is projected to result in medical bills of $40,000 AUD.
Our friends have already given so much to make their family possible. They have raised nearly $300,000 through extensive sacrifices, including selling their home, to cover the high costs of IVF and the expenses of their long international journey. And as if these challenges weren’t enough, a sudden and unforeseen change in regulations in Argentina led to the unexpected withdrawal of their private health insurance, leaving them without a crucial safety net.
They have always managed to overcome every hurdle without asking for help, but this latest challenge is greater than any they have faced before. Our goal is to raise $40,000 to help cover Sophie's immediate medical expenses and bring her home. If you have a little to spare, please consider donating to help cover these extraordinary expenses. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings them one step closer to bringing baby Sophie safely home to Western Australia.
A genuine thank you for any kindness and support you can provide.
