Our 12-year-old daughter, Piper, is ready to take her original songs to the stage. She has been playing guitar for almost three years now and writing some amazing music this past year, well beyond her years she has been told. She has set her sights on performing this summer at Farmers’ Markets across Northern Vermont but will need a sound system so that her music can be heard.  Please check out the video we’ve posted for a sneak peek at Piper’s work.  This song is just one of the outpourings of original songs she has been creating.

Piper has been raised on an organic vegetable farm in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont where she has been heavily influenced since a young age by her father’s musical talents, carrying the tip jar around to collect tips for her Daddy’s listeners at countless performances. Now she is ready for her own tip jar, but she is in need of a PA system that will carry her sound to her outdoor listeners. Last summer, she played her Farmers Market debut, where she used a borrowed sound system. It was a blessing to be able to borrow a system, but it showed us that not all systems are suitable for outdoor performances. And using borrowed equipment worked well for this one-time local performance, but she has goals of playing multiple markets and will really need her own equipment for this level of commitment.

In realizing it is time to invest, we began the search for a suitable sound system, but we quickly realized that what she needs is much beyond our budget. So, we are reaching out to family, friends, neighbors, and supporters of striving young musicians to raise the money we need to help Piper achieve her dreams.

We have been working with our local music shop and the reps at Musician’s Friend to determine the equipment she will need to get her music out into the world. Through your support, we will be purchasing a Mackie mixing board, two 15” Mackie speakers, along with 2 microphones with mic stands and cables.
