12 Days of Hope

This beautiful, young, single mother has had a difficult run lately and things seem to be getting worse. At the beginning of the year she worked at a restaurant from 4-12 to support her child. He is the love of her life and what makes her get up in the morning. She suffers greatly from depression and anxiety. Since he has come into her world, she has found purpose. However, the struggle to keep her head above water is still very real and life doesn’t seem to be giving her a break.
She lost her job when Covid hit. She was 3 months without work. She looked on the bright side and decided to look for a day job to be with her son at night. She finally got a job- at a fraction of what she previously made, but she knew it was worth it. Unfortunately, due to Covid, she could not get into the free preschool program that her some was eligible for and so she had to find babysitting. She managed...She has rent, food , utilities and the like to pay for, but she makes the sacrifices needed to make sure her son is provided for. But, life is what it is and she got no help from the government. She is still waiting for food stamps. The sadness of it all is she is doing everything right; yet, as one would expect, she fell behind in her car payments. She called the financial institution to see what she could do. They offered no help (refinance, free month, etc) except to make weekly payments to “catch up” on what was owed. Even with that, they ended up repossessing her car in the middle of the night 3 days before Christmas! Her car seat, Christmas presents for her son and much more was in that car! She spent an entire day trying to find out how to get the stuff out of the car to no avail! After six hours straight, she was told it was in another state, 800 miles away! Of course that was not true, but it was another way for the banking industry to take advantage of a unfortunate situation so that they could figure out a way to sell the car from underneath her. We spoke with a lawyer and his advice was to pay off the car through another bank so that there is another bank “owning” the car and she can get it back before the other bank sells it at an auction... thus the go fund me plea.
We would love to give Rachel some “Hope at Christmas” so during the 12 days of Christmas we are raising money to pay off or pay down the car so that she has one less bill to have to worry about. We want her to know that her hard efforts to work hard and make sacrifices is not going unnoticed and that there are still people who care for her and are able to help her out. We want her to know that Christmas is a time for people to reach out to those in need and renew the Spirit of Hope in humanity, in living and in revealing true Love.
Please give what you can but mostly, keep her in your prayers that she find Hope and encouragement in her efforts to provide for herself and her son. If we go over the amount, the extra money will go towards getting her 4year old into a private preschool or towards babysitting. Thank you for your consideration and please feel free to spread this message to anyone you feel is looking to help someone in need.
